*Moment of Kairos

Four worlds. Four ages. Four struggles through deserts, demons, criminal underworlds and overwhelming odds. Elian searches for answer to the mysterious blackouts, led forward by his only clue: an encoded diary. Ben stalks the streets at night in search of horrific creatures not of this world. Alexander hunts down criminals, always intent on doing the right thing whatever the cost. And Prometheus tries to save his village without dying in the process.

Separate but intertwined, they press on, linked somehow to the mysterious John, who watches and waits - for it seems each of the four is part of something much greater than they could ever have imagined.

In the world of Elian we are introduced to a world in which the remaining people of town are huddled into a cafe, listening carefully to the news on which cities have gone black. Just outside their door the army has blockaded the most recent city to go black. People were not allowed in, or out. But so far nobody has come out. Elian is approached by a stranger, asking if he would like to join him on his journey into the darkness to search for answers of why it is happening.

In Alexander's world. The leaders are the Church. They have Knights and Sires that do it's bidding.

In the Prometheus world his town is attacked by soldiers.

In Ben's world is current day, just moved to London. On the way home one dark night, getting lost on his way home something grabs ahold of him. The leathery skinned creature is able to grab him, flying at him and attacking him.

Told from these 4 different perspectives this story is one of mythical creatures, dangerous travels and characters that have to be brave to survive. Throughout time, all of these characters and their stories are tied together...somehow.

I have always been a fan of fantasy stories with unusual creatures and fighting scenes. The combination of different characters bring in an aspect to the story, as each person tells their story it is like going from modern day to back in history, then back again. Each persons story is a different time, and yet all connected in a imaginative way that includes epic adventures, amazing battles and mythical creatures.
Although I enjoyed the stories of Ben and Elian the most, the idea of getting several different stories tied into one made for a fun and fast paced read.
